Our horses are your horses while your at the M-Bar-C.
Get to know them and love them like we do!

Justin

JUSTIN: Justin is a registered bay Quarter Horse gelding, 15.2 hands and around 1100 lbs. Foaled in 1991; he was donated to the ranch in the summer of 2008. He is very gentle and well trained. He goes well both Western and English.

MOON MAN: Moon is a bay and white paint Tennessee walking horse gelding. 15.1 hands, and around 1200 lbs. He was donated to the ranch in the summer of 2008, by one of our dedicated volunteers. He has one blue eye and one brown eye. He is well trained both English and Western. He is very affectionate, and is not aggressive. He is gated, but prefers to go into the running walk out on the trail, more than in the arena.

Tequila

TEQUILA:  This beautiful Blue Roan mare is 14 years old and stands 15 hands.  She is the newest member of our herd and was donated to the ranch in September of 2009 from a local Whidbey Island family.  Tequila was used primarily as a western trail horse, she is calm, gentle, sweet natured and is a wonderful addition to our program. 

SADIE was foaled in 1990 out of a large Jack donkey and a large Appaloosa mare.  She is 16 hands and seal brown in color.  She has a calm temperament and will come right up to you.  Sadie was trained to ride, pack and hunt off her.  After a bit of refresher training she'll be used for trail rides, horse camps and our programs.  She's slowly settling into the herd.  She's lived on Whidbey Island most of her life and was donated to the Ranch in July 2010. Thirsty

THIRSTY (aka Grandma): Registered Quarter Horse mare, which stands approximately 15 hands and is flea bitten grey in color.  She was foaled in 1987 and was donated to the ranch in the summer of 2009.  Thirsty is kind and gentle horse and great for kids and beginners.

SMOKEY: Dapple Grey Missouri Fox Trotter. Foaled around 1992, 15.3 hands. Well broke, but has a lot of energy. He was foundered at the end of 2005, may not have been the first time. Smokey is an easy keeper, stays fat, needs to be constantly monitored for weight. Good ground manners, stands calm & quiet. He is an excellent trail horse.

Georgie

GEORGIE: White (flea bitten grey) Arab, Cobb, Welsh gelding. Around 14.1 hands. Foaled around 1993. Lots of training, especially western performance. Very gentle, excellent kid’s horse. Georgie goes well English and bareback. Excellent on the trails, great for beginners. He can untie any knot, he should be named “Houdini”.

DANCER: Purebred Arabian gelding, foaled in 1991. Professionally trained for show, either Western, English, or bareback. Very gentle & calm, excellent with kids.  Excellent on the trails.  Donated to the ranch in May of 2006.  Dancer is an excellent program or horse camp mount. Dancer
Willard WILLARD: Donkey, gentle & calm. Foaled around 1982. Born on the ranch. Good ground manners, but needs to be watched around his hind feet. He founders easily, so is permanently on a diet.

PATTY: Percheron Draft mare. Foaled in 1986. Gentle & calm also, trained under saddle. Will walk, trot & lope in round pen. Patty can be “cute” about being caught. She was donated to the ranch in 2003.  Patty can be ridden Western, English or Bareback and also used to pull our ranch wagon AKA. "Paddy Wagon"

ALLEY: Morgan mare, not registered. Foaled in 1982, sorrel.  14.2 hands. Excellent kids horse, or beginner’s horse. Calm & gentle, will go English, Western or bareback.  She was donated to the ranch in July of 2006. Wonderful program or horse camp mount. Very sweet natured.

SOONER:  donated in April of 2009 Sooner was foaled in 1995.  He is a sorrel and white Pinto Gelding, Arabian and Quarter horse cross.  He is 14.3 hands tall and an excellent trail horse. Sooner
Oreo OREO:  Oreo is a black and white paint/percheron mare, 15.2 hands, foaled roughly around 1987. She was used mainly as a pack/trail/hunting horse. She is very gentle and non-aggressive.  She can be ridden Western or bareback.  Excellent for beginner riders and horse camp.  Used to be called “Bristol”.

 

Mack

MACK & NED are both purebred Halflingers. They were foaled in 1990, & were donated to us in fall of 2009. They have been raised together, and make a wonderful team. They are chestnut geldings, with flaxen mane & tails. They are both 14.3 hands, and very stocky.  They are well trained to pull wagons, and trail ride. Ned has the longer mane, and is a little lighter in body color. Mack has the shorter mane, and is a little darker.

J. W. or J-WOW is a gray registered Quarter Horse gelding 15.1 hands. Donated to the Ranch in 2011 he was trained in Western Gaming.
Smart and sweet-natured he’s a Ranch favorite.

Little Red

LITTLE RED OR RED was donated to the Ranch in 2011.  A Strawberry Roan mare 15.1 hands.  She is a registered Paint Quarter Horse.  Has done Western gaming and was used as a cutting horse.  Very sweet and willing.


Our Minis:

Annie

ANNIE: She is a light chestnut miniature horse with a flaxen mane & tail. She was foaled in 1999 and was donated to the ranch by a local breeder. She has no bad habits, is gentle, calm and sweet. She was quite over weight when she arrived in September of 2006. She needs daily exercise, either longing in the round pen, or going for long walks. Can handle a child 60 lbs or under bareback or with saddle, being led.

FOLLY: Was donated the same time Annie was. They came from the same breeder. Folly was foaled in 1993. She is a white miniature horse. She also is calm, gentle, and trained to drive. She is exercised daily with Annie, either by being longed, or going on walks. No bad habits. Will carry a very small child (40 lbs or less) bareback while being led.

Tea Bisquit

TEA BISCUIT:  Donated in April of 2009, "Biscuit" is a Shetland mare.   Foaled in 2004, she is a dappled, liver chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail.  She is not started under saddle and we plan to work on this over the summer.  She is very clam, gentle, willing and sweet with children.
